Equipped with a powerful-yet-light brushless motor and the latest electronic features including Makita's new Quick Change Memory Mode the Makita DTD171Z 18 volt cordless impact driver offers four impact force settings and four application assist modes. This gives you incredible control in a variety of fastening applications. The Quick Change Memory Mode recalls the previous registered setting, so you can quickly toggle between two settings with the mode-switching button located above the trigger.

- TEK Mode 1 prevents screws from over-tightening and cross threading by driving with high-speed rotation and stopping soon after the tool starts to impact
- TEK Mode 2 reduces cam out and cross threading to prevent breakage and stripping by driving with high-speed rotation and slowing as the tool begins to impact
- Quick Change Memory Mode allows operator to rapidly toggle between two registered settings with the handy mode-switch button located above trigger
- Enhanced anvil holder rigidity with ball bearings reduces bit wobbling
